SUGARLAND: Stage Collapse Statement
Lawyers representing Sugarland have fired back in the lawsuit filed against them over the stage collapse in Indianapolis last summer. They are denying that the band should be held responsible for the wind-driven collapse, which killed seven people and injured more than 40. According to Indianapolis's WRTV, Sugarland's attorneys point out that they had no involvement in the construction of the stage since it wasn't erected for their sole use, and that it wasn't their responsibility to cancel the show for inclement weather. Their response also states, "Some or all of the plaintiffs failed to exercise due care for their own safety."
