BLAKE SHELTON: Dad Hospitalized Blake Shelton appeared unusually somber at Monday night's American Country Awards, and now we know why. According to CNN, his father, Richard, was admitted to an Oklahoma hospital that evening after suffering from pneumonia. Blake was visibly emotional while performing his hit single, "God Gave Me You," and he acknowledged his dad while accepting an award. Immediately following the show, he and wife Miranda Lambert flew back to Oklahoma. MINDY MCCREADY: Freed in Arkansas Mindy McCready's son, Zander, has been placed in foster care after he and his mother were found hiding in a closet in Heber Springs, Arkansas. According to NBC's Today, Mindy could eventually face federal kidnapping charges and Zander could be returned to her mother's home in Florida, but for now, she is free.
Carrie Underwood has big plans for 2012. For starters, she's hard at work this week finishing up a new album, which she says is her best yet. She tells us, "I'm so excited about it. I honestly think these are the best batch of songs and this is going to be the best album." Also in the works for next year is a big tour, and Carrie says it will have lots of surprises.
Miranda Lambert is usually all about independent women, but she's not above a cheap thrill here and there. That's why Chris Young and Jerrod Niemann will open for her upcoming On Fire tour. She tells us, "I've got to have some eye candy for the girls!" The On Fire Tour kicks off January 12th in Rockford, Illinois.
Trailer Choir's Big Vinny has lost more than 100 pounds on The Biggest Loser, but he's gained a fiancee. According to People magazine, Vinny popped the question to longtime girlfriend, Lori Diaz, while they were out on a date at the Grand Ole Opry. Following the big moment, Thompson Square came out and played an intimate performance of their hit single "Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not." Vinny tells us his bride-to-be is looking at an October 11th, 2012, wedding date -- that's 10/11/12. |
