Darius Rucker pays homage to pal and musical influence Radney Foster with the title of his upcoming album, Charleston, South Carolina, 1966. He tells Billboard, "He came out with Del Rio, Texas, 1959 back in '92, and it was a huge record for me... When Radney came along was when I first started saying, 'I want to sing that music some day.' The titles of both projects reflect their respective artists' hometowns and birth years.
Little BigTown's Karen Fairchild came up with the idea for the swampy rocker "Little White Church" while taking a shower. She tells Alabama's Birmingham News, "The shower is just where I have some time to think -- no I-Pad, no computer... I jumped out and sang it into my I-Phone." The band finished the tune that afternoon, and the fun hand claps came about in the studio.
Randy Houser was surprised when Reba McEntire named his debut album, along with Lady Gaga's, as one of her favorites. And now he's a little nervous about sending her the follow-up, They Call Me Cadillac. Since the new album is quite different than his first, Randy worries she won't like it. Good Morning America's Robin Roberts is a fan of Cadillac, though, and couldn't wait to tell Randy when he appeared on the show yesterday.
