FAITH HILL: This Week's NFL Picks
Faith Hill is once again trying her hand at picking winners during the NFL season for Nashville's Tennessean newspaper. Here are her first week's predictions:
The title of Kenny Chesney's upcoming album, Hemingway's Whiskey, isn't just one of the tracks on the collection, it's also a nod to American novelist, Ernest Hemingway. Kenny's favorite Hemingway work is The Old Man and the Sea, which he says reminds him of his grandfather.
Keith Urban was among the many country stars who lost musical instruments when a storage space took on water during the floods in Nashville last May. Keith eventually replaced some of his prized guitars, but not before a period of mourning. He jokes, "I didn't want to start dating immediately. I didn't want to be disrespectful, so I borrowed a couple of guitars at first and then very, very slowly bought very, very cheap ones." Keith will be headlining the We're All for the Hall benefit concert for the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville on October 5th.
Rascal Flatts' Joe Don Rooney and his wife Tiffany Fallon welcomed a new arrival this week. Their daughter Raquel Blue was born on Tuesday afternoon. Joe Don says, "We feel so grateful to have this sweet little angel round out our family ... We feel blessed and are ready for the sleepless nights ahead." The couple also have a two-year-old son, Jagger.
Carrie Underwood finally got to see her big screen debut in Soul Surfer. She tells the Associated Press, "I really liked how everything turned out, including myself. I was really expecting the worst from myself, and I really surprised myself." Carrie plays the role of a youth counselor in the movie, which is based on the story of teen surfer Bethany Hamilton who lost her arm in a shark attack. It is slated for a 2011 release. |
