Virtually every country superstar in America performed on the ACM Presents: Brooks & Dunn -- The Last Rodeo TV special that aired on CBS Sunday night. Miranda Lambert was on hand to sing "Hillbilly Deluxe," but she had to fight for that one with Jason Aldean and Darius Rucker, who both told her, "Hey, thanks for stealing our song." Says Miranda, "Originally Carrie Underwood stole mine, 'cause I wanted to do 'Neon Moon,' so we were all taking everybody's stuff.'"
After taping her performance, Miranda got to go watch the rest of the show from the audience, and there were a few performances that really stood out for her. Jennifer Hudson's powerful take on "Believe" was among those. Miranda adds, "One of my favorite performances was Sugarland's. I thought it was so great, and I love to see them and, like, Rascal Flatts just by themselves. It makes me remember why Rascal Flatts is Rascal Flatts because it's just the guys and their instruments and their amazing voices." Of note, Sugarland performed a stripped-down version of "Red Dirt Road," and Rascal Flatts took on "It's Getting Better All the Time."
As for Brooks & Dunn really splitting up for good, Miranda just isn't buying it. She says, "At some point, even if it's 20 years from now, they're gonna come back together and do something on TV. We'll see it."
Other big performances from last night's Brooks & Dunn tribute include George Strait's version of "Boot Scootin' Boogie," Brad Paisley doing "My Next Broken Heart" and Reba and Ronnie Dunn making a surprise appearance on Lady Antebllum's version of "If You See Him, If You See Her."
