Video has surfaced of the 33 men trapped deep in a mine in Chile since August 5th. In the message to their families, the men expressed thanks for the efforts to save them and made a few jokes. Said one man, "We know what you've all been doing for us. You haven't left us alone. We want to send applause to you." On cue, all the men are seen breaking into applause. The men are shirtless in the video with the temperature in the mine reaching 85 degrees, which is a little cooler than estimated. One man is seen sprawled out in a pile of rocks and jokes, "Oh, you're sleeping on a box-spring bed."
It's hard to believe that it will take months before these 33 men will be rescued. They have been told to slim down to a 35 inch waist in order to squeeze through the 36 inch rescue tube that will be drilled. They are in an area of about 600 square feet. They are receiving food, water and air through a 6 inch tube. I wonder where they go to the bathroom? ~Scott~
