TOP OF THE CHARTS: Trace Debuts At Number One Trace Adkins' Cowboy's Back in Town debuted in the top spot on the country albums chart followed by Lady Antebellum's Need You Now, which had a 35 percent increase in sales last week. Lady A also took the third spot on the list with their new I-Tunes Session. Blake Shelton's All About Tonight dipped to the number four position down from number one last week. Zac Brown Band's The Foundation rounds out the top five country albums of the week.
For the fourth season, Faith Hill will perform "Waiting All Day for Sunday Night" -- the opening theme for NBC's Sunday Night Football. Faith shot the opening sequence earlier this summer. She says, "I was honored to be asked to do the song. It's fun. I'm a football fan." The song and the series debut on September 12th.
A comic book chronicling Taylor Swift's rise to fame is now in stores. The Fame series featuring Taylor follows her as she shops her demo tape around Nashville. Other stars in the series include Twilight's Kristen Stewart, Justin Bieber, Barbara Walters and the cast of Glee
James Otto and his wife, Amy, are the proud parents to a baby girl, Ava Katherine, who was born Tuesday night in Nashville. James says, "She is beautiful like her Mama and I am already wrapped around her tiny finger." James joked on Twitter that there were two babies born on Tuesday -- Ava and his new single, "Soldiers and Jesus."
Keith Urban and John Mayer will reunite for a special performance Saturday night at the Gorge in Spokane, Washington. The pair originally connected during a taping of CMT's Crossroads in January. Keith says, "There's a certain simpatico between us as guitar players that, I think, comes from sharing the same desire to express the unwritten. Playing together at the Gorge will be like adding a musical score to the most magnificent setting in a film." |
