TOP OF THE CHARTS: Status Quo Though a couple of artists had slight bumps in sales, the country album chart is basically a carbon copy of last week. Lady Antebellum's Need You Now posted an 11-percent increase to stay at number one, and Zac Brown Band hangs at number two with The Foundation. Jerrod Niemann's Judge Jerrod and the Hung Jury remains at number three -- a good sign for the newcomer. Miranda Lambert's Revolution is in the number four spot, and Carrie Underwood's Play On is at number five. TAYLOR SWIFT: Performs on CMA TV Special Taylor Swift will perform her soon-to-be released single "Mine" on the CMA Music Festival: Country's Night to Rock on September 1st. The performance was filmed at a secret event held during the festival. The show will air at 8 p.m. (ET) on ABC-TV.
Faith Hill is the new ambassador for Tide Loads of Hope -- a program which provides free laundry service to areas devastated by natural disasters. Faith became aware of the program in the wake of Hurricane Katrina a few years back, and more recently, during the floods in Nashville. Faith says, "I have been a champion of the work Tide does to restore a sense of hope and normalcy to those affected by disaster through providing a basic necessity -- clean clothing." Tide will be hosting a free concert starring Faith on August 24th in New Orleans to celebrate the rebuilding of the city and the surrounding areas.
