(QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA) You may want to consider if it is seriously worth watching another hour of “Jersey Shore” tonight. Or for that matter, “Grey’s Anatomy”.
New research into mortality shows just how detrimental being sedentary can be. Doctors found, by following the health habits of almost 12,000 Australian adults, sitting on the couch watching TV for 1 hour will reduce your lifespan by 22-minutes.
Put another way, the average adult watches so much TV that they (on average) die 5 years before the person who never watches any TV.
The point is: Turn off the TV, turn on your radio and get off your duff.
