NBC Is Developing an "Office" Spin-off for Dwight

NBC is toying with the idea of doing a spin-off of "The Office" starring Dwight . . . who's played by RAINN WILSON.

 "Sources" say the show wouldn't take place in the office this time . . . it'd follow Dwight's life on his family's beet farm and bed & breakfast, which has been featured on "The Office" several times.  If this happens, it's unclear what this means for Dwight's future on "The Office" . . . and the future of "The Office" altogether.  The show hasn't been picked up for a ninth season yet, but the "Hollywood Reporter" says that's "likely" to happen.

The untitled Dwight show wouldn't begin until "early 2013."
