BLAKE SHELTON: Turtle Tweet Upsets Ellen

Blake Shelton had done it again -- he's caught the ire of animal lovers, includingEllen DeGeneres, with one of his recent Tweets. Over the weekend, heTweeted, "Does anyone know if the Eastern box turtle is protected in Oklahoma? If so, I didn't just swerve to the shoulder of the road to smash one."

Ellen fired her own Tweet off to Blake: "Here's what's funny: knock-knock jokes. Here's what's not funny: animal cruelty." Soon after Blake responded, "Can you imagine what this world would be like if people spent this much time worrying about people? I assure you no turtles heard my joke."

It turns out that despite the media firestorm, Blake wasn't even in Oklahoma and didn't run over a turtle.
