This is no-way is an endorsement, but I want to tell you about one of my favorite protein bars. When trying to eat healthy - and having a sweet-tooth as I do BIG TIME - protein bars are a relatively healthy way to satisfy that sweet tooth.
There are a lot of brands of protein bars and you have to be careful, as MOST of them are glorified candy bars. One of the things you need to look for is the calorie to protein gram ratio. Some weight-loss experts agree that you should have 10 calories for every 1 gram of protein to help "fill you up" without eating a TON of calories (ie: 250 calories should have approx. 25 grams of protein)
I've found that Premier Protein bars are relatively inexpensive (usually between $1 and $1.50) and have a good calorie-to-protein ratio per bar (290 Calories - 30g of protein)
These are a great post-workout meal. They come in 2 main flavors "Double Chocolate" and "Chocolate Peanut Butter" and both taste pretty good. Make sure you drink at-least 16-20oz of water with them too.
They have 8g of fat, 4 of those grams are Saturated. 70 total calories from fat. I buy mine at our local Wal-Mart and they are $1.18, which make them less expensive than most of their competitors on the shelf. Like most protein bars, they do contain some artificial sweeteners, but you can get more information at www.premiernutrition.com
