Last night was my husband's 33 birthday which in our house means one thing, steak dinner!! It's what he picks every year, so we know that on 12/12, there's some beef that's cooking up in our house.
Over the years, I have cooked steak every way imaginable! Our favorite was always grilled...until now!
This is simple, and makes a very tender cut of meat!
To start, heat up some oil and butter in a pan on the stove top, and pre-heat your oven to 350. The pan you use on the stove-top will be going into the oven so be sure to use an oven-safe one. I pull out the iron skillet for this, not the standard size but my big daddy skillet!
The butter and oil should heat up so that it's dancing in the skillet.
Salt and pepper the top of your steaks. Once oil is heated up, add the meat to the pan and throw on some more salt and pepper on the unseasoned side. (I only season with pepper as I use salted butter for this)
Let the steaks cook, untouched-do not move them around, for 5 mins. After 5 mins, flip them and cover with butter tabs. I stick to about 4 tabs per steak.
Now, take the whole pan and place in the oven for 5 more minutes. When time is up, put them on a plate and cover with foil. Let them rest for another 5 minutes.
I do not have any after pictures to show you the amazingness, we dug right in! Soo good! The steak comes out soo tender that even our 19 month old gets in on this action!
