STUDY: Your Brain Shuts Down When You’re in Love

While falling in love might sound like a magical thing, scientists have discovered that it’s just a biological reaction that affects the brain.

In fact, falling in love actually shuts down part of the brain.

Researchers have found that the part of the brain that’s in charge of judgment is the first to go.

This causes people in love to stop criticizing or doubting, which explains why so many people fall in love with someone who, in hindsight, might be a terrible choice of a mate.

Fortunately, people who are in are still capable of making other major decisions in their lives, such as doing business deals. (MedicalDaily.com)

  • No time for leftovers! Black Friday starts early this year...

    Posted by Jessie B Hawkins

Looks like there will be no time for seconds this Thanksgiving for Black Friday shoppers. Some retailers, including the world’s largest, are opening earlier than ever this year. Wal-Mart and Sears are opening their stores at 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving. Kmart will be open on Thanksgiving Day from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will reopen from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. Macy’s, Best Buy and Kohl’s all open at midnight.

According to NBC, Wal-Mart has been getting flack on Facebook for not observing the full holiday, but business analysts claim the payoff is worth the backlash: Stores that extended their hours to open earlier saw an average 22% increase in sales. So, while shoppers might complain about Black Friday encroaching on Turkey Day, they’re still turning out in droves to buy things anyway.

Are you a Black Friday shopper? I'm to lazy...I could never get up or stay up just to shop.  LOL

Taylor Swift's Red is big. In fact, it's huge. The album sold 1.2 million copies last week, according to Nielsen SoundScan. That's the biggest single sales week in a decade, since The Eminem Show sold 1.2 million during its first week of release back in 2002.

Red also easily tops the Billboard 200 chart to become Taylor's third-consecutive Number-One debut.

The monster sales were spurred by Taylor's heavy promotional push that included appearances on Good Morning America, The Late Show With David Letterman, The View, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Katie and 20/20. Red was also available in such non-traditional locations as Starbucks, Walgreens and Papa John's.
