  • Naked Rollercoastering- only in England!

Posted by Justin "The Big Deal"

From bare nipples to white knuckles - more than 100 thrill-seekers rode a rollercoaster naked today. The 102 enthusiasts bared all to take their seats on the Green Scream rollercoaster at Southend-on-Sea, Essex. Organisers were hoping they had broken a new record after 32 attempted the same feat in 2004 at Alton Towers, in Staffordshire.

Organizer Tracy Jones said: 'We wanted to raise as much money as possible for this brilliant charity and give everybody who was brave enough, the chance to be part of the world record. Consequently, we had to run the Naked Rollercoaster three times.' The ride took place at Adventure Island, raising money for Southend Hospital Charitable Foundation's Bosom Pals Appeal.

  • Cheeseburger Smoothie Anyone?

To fight back at McDonald's jumping in on its smoothie game, Jamba Juice has launched a new line of "Cheeseburger Chill Smoothies."  Let not your delicate stomach linings be discomfited, it's only a parody campaign, a ballsy bit of brand warfare meant to flip off McDonald's for encroaching on Jamba Juice's territory.  To thank you for "being in on the joke," Jamba Juice is also giving away $1 off coupons for their smoothies. But after watching that cheeseburger get pureed, I think they should also throw in a $1 off Pepto Bismol coupon.

Leaping Barracuda Gashes Teenage Girl's Arm

Wira and her dad stopped for a quick picture before jumping in the car and heading to the hospital. Wira said she wasn't in pain at the moment, but she was still creeped out by the fish. Her arm needed 51 stitches, and doctors told her they had never treated a barracuda bite. Her stitches are out now, and she said her arm is healing.

kids gets bit by barracuda- dad is so proud...

Koral Wira, 14, was fishing with her parents and a friend near Venice, Fla., when a barracuda went for her dad's bait and ended up biting her instead. Her dad, Rob Parker, submitted these photos and Wira told the story.

After anchoring the boat 4 miles off shore, Parker baited his rod with herring. Wira switched seats to get out of the hot sun, and watched as her dad cast. Moments later, she heard a splash and saw a long silver flash in the air. A barracuda jumped from the water and opened its mouth. As it hit her left arm, it clamped down with razor teeth.

Calm down ladies- he lives in California...

Hollywood actor and Southern California resident Nick Afanasiev has the longest tongue in the United States, according to San Diego television station Fox 5. Measuring 3.5 inches from the middle of his closed top lip to the tip of his tongue, Afanasiev's tongue is just 0.36 shorter than that of Stephen Taylor, the world record holder for the world's longest tongue.

Afanasiev was launched into fame after YouTube videos of his extraordinarily tongue received more than one million views.

"I knew it was long; I just didn't know it was one of the longest." Afanasiev told the news station.

  • I'm buying a boat and sailing PBR to China!!!

Posted by Justin "The Big Deal"

In America it's called PBR and is the blue-collar/hipster beverage of choice. In China it's called Pabst Blue Ribbon 1844 and will run you $44 a bottle. Pretty steep for a beer whose biggest draw in the U.S. is the fact that it's, uh, really cheap.

In China, where the lager has been branded as a “world-famous spirit” and bottled in a much more alluring way, Pabst Blue Ribbon 1844 actually looks quite enticing.  The advertising campaign for the beer even likens it to “Scotch whisky, French brandy, Bordeaux wine,” as they are all matured in wooden casks.

Another marked difference notable from the ad? There is a champagne flute-like glass accompanying the ostentatious bottle, which presumably is what you are to consume your beer from. Classy! In the U.S., PBR is typically consumed straight from the can. Which may or may not be still cloaked in the paper bag from the store.

But no matter how nicely it's dressed up, it's still the same old stuff. And as a rule, $44 a bottle is about $42 more than any sane person should be paying for PBR. (The New Yorker via Gawker)

    Ex-IRS agent pleads guilty

A former IRS tax specialist admitted in federal court in Maryland that he owes more than $789,000 in overdue taxes, federal authorities said.  John Venuti, 62, of Harwood, Md, pleaded guilty Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Baltimore to three counts of failing to file a federal income tax return, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office in Maryland.  Venuti worked at the accounting firm KPMG LLP from 2002 until January as a tax consultant and principal, court documents state. He worked for the IRS from 1974 to 1983, including three years during which he was chief of the Tax Treaty and Technical Services Division.  According to the plea agreement, Venuti did not file federal tax returns from 2001 to 2006. Each year, though, he requested and was granted a six-month extension, and made a total of $97,060 in payments along with the extension requests. Authorities said he owes more than $789,000 in back taxes.  In July 2008, after he was told he was under criminal investigation, Venuti submitted tax returns for the tax years 2001 to 2006, authorities said.  Venuti faces a maximum sentence of one year in prison for each of the three counts. He is scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 2.
